Ultrabox (2025-01-14) -> Online Version -> FAQ (Offline version is dowloadable from here) Also known as Beepbox. Just a simple focused way to make music. If you like piano roll this stuffs awsome. I like the character of its builtin synths. Reaper (2025-01-14) High quality software in its purest form. The default audio processing tools it comes with are extreamly well made. The Daw itself is extreamly well optimized. Cons: Does not come with insruments, requires setting up VTS's, a pain, not inspiring. There are so many settings, it very overwheming. Blockhead (2025-01-14) I love using blockhead to edit samples. Its built in modulation and fx system works beutifuly to make a cohesive instrument / canvas. Cons: Runs worse than Reaper. Its creator does not seam to be too consered about getting blockhead to run on weaker hardware. Linux: You now need at least glibc 2.38 to run Blockhead. Your computer must be about to run openGL 4.1 Its in alpha testing right now, so make sure to spam Ctrl+S, it crashes ALOT. I've lost alot of work using blockhead.

Image Editing

Krita (2025-01-14) Gimp sucks don't use it. Krita has an extreamly mature set of tools. The filter system is awsome. Great for digital drawing. Cons: No real complaints besides the color selector, why can't i give you hex codes? Asprite (2025-01-14) I love using blockhead to edit samples. Its built in modulation and fx system works beutifuly to make a cohesive instrument / canvas. Cons: Cooks itself with large images

Game Engines

Love2D (2025-01-14) Beutiful way to make games with LUA. If you like coding all your own systems, Love2D is awsome. Godot (2025-01-14) Great 3D game engine. The way scene trees works is intuitive and clean(ish). The online multiplayer system with RPC functions is real clean, once you get your head around it. Lets you be optimized it you want but also has the flexablity of prebuilt simple objects to make prototyping super fast. cons: signals are kinda meh, i usually used function calls via globals if i could. pico8 I love the comunity of pico8 :) The BBS and the sharing of ideas is made super easy. Love the limitations of the fantisy consol. Makes you focus on completing something.
