The Problem of Evil

Why would suffering exist under the jurisdiction of a being who could get rid of suffering? Could suffering just not be a thing please?

Perhaps suffering is a mechanism of teaching! often within Christianity, human suffering is explained as a way to spiritually educate the world. knowledge of pain is helpful when someone wants to avoid pain. the most visceral and emotionally relevant way to understand pain is to experience it. put your hand on a hot stove, your brain will do its best to keep you from doing that again. taking advantage of someone? as long as your brain feels guilty, it will try to help the body to not take advantage of them again. knowledge of pain become useful to a existence that is surrounded by pain. techniques to avoid and mitigate what pain in caused within your emotionally bonded group. if dangers did not exist within reality there would be no need to learn about them or prevent them from occurring because they simply would not happen.

one way to put this more simply. imagine, a deer in a forest. one day, an old pine tree falls, crushing the deer's back, paralyzing and pining it to the ground. over the course of the next 4 days, the deer becomes severely dehydrated, staving for food, its family has left it with no way to help them. the deer slowly dies from starvation. this and other things: when you cut your hand with a knife, when someone at work unintentionally hurt your emotional state. when there is not enough money for food and the government cut funding to public food services.

the mechanisms of nature are not concerned with our self justifying mythologies. more often, a destructive event will occur and humans are left creating stories which explain the event and their suffering.

i find that the story of Christianity does not explain suffering well. and when it tries, it does so in an esoteric fashion. it's one of those things that is "all part of god's plan". i do not think this excuse does anything but relieve psychological discomfort.

honestly, i find the idea that suffering is an object of consideration, as if it something extra or out place, to be kinda silly. "suffering" (or what we would call suffering) is just to well integrated into the systems of reality. pain is a mental technique which the brain preforms in order keep itself alive. a mechanism which was formed by millions of years of evolution. DNA structures which were able to use pain in a way which created more copies of their genes ends up creating a whole bunch of creatures who feel pain which drives them to survive and exist. for me "suffering" is not a problem. its a physical reality.
